Bloodborne Patch – Solo Soulscast Episode 1

Something strange is afoot here at the SoulsCast. For this post-Halloween episode, it’s actually just Shane going solo. This is going to be a new side-project of sorts, and it’s called the Solo SoulsCast. Much like you would fight a tough Souls boss solo, so does Shane tackle the daunting task of hosting a podcast all by himself. Since life is so busy for the both of us (Shane and Adam, that is), Shane decided that it was time to whet the appetite of the public! They need to be satiated! In this episode, Shane talks about the new Bloodborne patch announcement and he gets all misty-eyed for Demon’s Souls. Hopefully fans of the SoulsCast will enjoy this, and don’t worry,l the original, best selling SoulsCast IS coming back. Just wait. So, sit back, grab some cheap gin, and enjoy episode 1 of the Solo SoulsCast!

Beginner’s Tips – Soulscast Episode 14

SPOILER ALERT! We’re back! After a few week hiatus (real life really does happen, you guys), Adam and Shane are back with another nationally recognized* episode of the Soulscast! This week, we talk about beginner tips and tricks. We discuss what a total newcomer might wanna know if they are gonna take the plunge; which game is the best for a newbie to start with; also, general and game-specific tips. Hear us run over our projected time by at least double. Plus! The shocking revelation of the link between Mickey Mouse and Dark Souls. We don’t have a new weekly schedule nailed down yet, but we’re hoping this is the start to regular episodes again. Thanks for listening, and as always, uh, grab a drink and drink it!

The Dark Souls II Beastiary – Soulscast Episode 13

It’s not the BeerCast this week (Shane isn’t drinking a beer!). It’s more like the LateCast (sorry, sometimes life is busy!). But no, it’s the world-renowned SoulsCast! Join Shane and Adam as they talk all about the Dark Souls II Bestiary. Similar to our Bloodborne Bestiary episode, in this one we go over most annoying enemies, best enemy designs, and enemies that best tie into lore. We’re late this week, and we are running a little shorter than usual (by 20 minutes) but you’re still gonna get great Souls talk. What do we think about the enemies of Dark Souls II? Do they suck, or are they spectacular? Are they boring or imaginative? Are they bland, or…bland? Eh, just listen to find out. Also, Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots AND Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are mentioned. That’s reason enough to listen! Enjoy, and thanks as always for listening to the SoulsCast.

Artorias of the Abyss – Soulscast Episode 12

Here we have another spectacular episode of the Soulscast! We’re at episode twelve, which means we’ve been doing this for about three solid months. Wow, that’s amazing! For this episode, Adam and Shane talk all about the glorious and majestic Dark Souls DLC, Artorias of the Abyss. Specifically, we discuss our initial thoughts, how to access it (cryptic!), the area/level design, the fantastic bosses, and the lore, which we might argue is the best bit of lore in all of the Souls games. Pizza, beer, magicians, and shouting-out other people are also on the agenda. So if you are feeling nostalgic for Dark Souls and its DLC (maybe you’ve watched Twitch Play Dark Souls recently?), then climb in, get comfy, sip some water and/or beer, and enjoy another episode of the Soulscast!

New Dark Souls 3 Info – Soulscast Episode 11

Everything is gonna be fine for this week’s Soulscast! In our eleventh episode, Adam Blue and Shane Norton talk all about Dark Souls 3! Specifically, about all the information that’s come out from the recent Gamescom expo. Inside, we’ll talk about gameplay flourishes like battle arts and general movement speed, the look and design of the world (so far), and supposed enemies and bosses (hint: they’re bigger!). Shane seems to talk more in this episode than usual, and Adam, unbeknownst to anyone listening, is recording in the dark. Also, Miyazaki is a damn great game director. So sit back, relax, grab some pink lemonade and repeat to yourself: it’s gonna be fine on the Soulscast!

The Souls Community – Soulscast Episode 10

We’ve hit the big 1-0 here at the Soulscast! That’s right, ten episodes in, and there’s no signs of slowing down. It’s a very exciting time here for us. For our tenth episode, we decided to do a different kind of episode. In it, we talk about the Souls community. And not the community-at-large (that’ll be an entirely different episode), but some of the heavy hitters, you know, your EpicNameBro’s, your Lobos Jr’s, your Jeff Green’s, your VaatiVidya’s, to name a few. Guys (and gals!) like that. We talk about how we discovered them, what makes them interesting or fun to watch/listen to, and how they contribute and help the Souls community. Not to be outdone by people far more famous than us, we end our podcast by talking about us, Adam Blue and Shane Norton. Adam hates RPGs! How do you like that? Shane has to stop at least once during every podcast to either grab another beer or go to the bathroom. Ha! Also, dad jokes are involved. So sit back, grab some of your favorite coffee-flavored beverine (bonus points for anyone that picks up this reference), and enjoy episode 10 of the Soulscast. Great things are coming!

The Bloodborne Bestiary – Soulscast Episode 9

Come one, come all to the ninth episode of the Soulscast! In this amazing episode, Adam and Shane talk about the Bloodborne bestiary. What does that mean? It means ENEMIES! Spurred on by a photo album that shows up close, detailed in-game pics of almost every Bloodbore enemy, we talk about the most annoying enemies, our favorite looking enemies, and enemies that tie back into the great Bloodborne lore. This episode has our longest intro yet (I think). Inside, you’ll also be treated to some official Bloodborne guidebook stuff. Is the movie Brotherhood of the Wolf involved? Is Chaos Reborn a better name than the One Reborn? Why so many damn spiders? Well, listen to find out the answers to all those questions! Also, guys and girls, wherever you’re listening to this, comment to us! We’d love to talk Souls with other Souls fans! Sit back, relax, and maybe grab a delicious sub from your local D’Angelos sub shop? I’m (Shane) about to devour one! Cheers

Dark Souls vs Dark Souls II – Soulscast Episode 8

We’re at episode number 8 here at Soulscast central. That’s eight weeks of Souls-y goodness! Join Adam and Shane this week as they talk about maybe the most controversial topic in the Souls community: Dark Souls vs. Dark Souls II. It’s a throw-down of sorts! Inside we compare various areas of the games, including: bonfires, enemies, bosses, leveling, and even some lore tidbits. Oh yeah, and we descend into rambling madness at the end when talking off script! Was everything I wrote just now a lie? Do we really just talk Fashion Souls for 70 minutes? Well, you’ll have to listen to find out! This is another late episode, as we just got finished recording at midnight eastern time. And yes, it’s a day late. My sincerest apologies. Sometimes, life happens. But, again, it’s worth the wait! So sit back, grab a beer (or two), and enjoy another episode of the Soulscast!

Dark Souls – Soulscast Episode 7

Welcome all, to the Soulscast! Adam and Shane welcome you to episode 7 of the Souls-podcast that could! This week’s episode is all about Dark Souls. This was the game that really, REALLY hooked Shane into the series, so listen as he talks for 14 straight hours without taking a breath. Was he buzzed from three beers? Well, maybe a little. Also, fun drinking game! Take a shot every time Shane says, “yeah!” Sorry for your death. In the episode, we talk about our introductions to the game, our builds/weapons we used, and our favorite bosses and areas. We go into some DLC talk (no spoilers though: Adam hasn’t played yet) too. Also, Adam learns of some new areas he never experienced his first time through. Finally, to hell with Sen’s Fortress, Crystal Cave, and Lost Izalith, and to hell with Skyrim! As always, thanks for listening and I hope you’ve enjoyed the Soulscast!
